<image:caption>There are basically two types of health insurance plans: indemnity plans (fee-for services) or managed care plans. The differences include the choice of providers, out-of-pocket costs for covered services and how bills are paid. There is no one best health insurance plan for everyone. Some health insurance plans are better than others for your or your family’s health care needs, but no one health insurance plan will pay for all the costs associated with your medical care.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Commercial Vehicle Insurance - Commercial Vehicle Insurance</image:title>
<image:caption>As a business owner, you need the same types of insurance coverage for the vehicles you use in your business as you do for a car used in your personal lives -- liability, collision and comprehensive, and coverage for uninsured motorists. In fact, many business owners use the same cars or trucks for both business and leisure. If the vehicle is owned by the business, make sure the name of the business appears on the policy as the principal insured rather than your name. This will avoid confusion in the event that you need to file a claim or a claim is filed against you. Whether you need to buy a commercial vehicle insurance policy will depend on the kind of driving you do. A good commercial vehicle insurance company will ask you details about how you will use your vehicles in your business, which will be driven, and whether or not your employees are likely to be driving their own vehicles for your business. While the major coverages are the same, a commercial vehicle insurance policy differs from a personal auto policy in many respects. Ask your commercial vehicle Khaiser Insurance Group to explain all the differences and options. If you have a personal umbrella liability policy, there are generally exclusions for business-related liability. Make sure you have sufficient auto liability coverage.</image:caption>

This protects you against financial losses from lawsuits filed against you by your clients or vendors. Property Insurance covers the buildings that you may own and inventory against physical loss or damage. If you don’t own the building, you still need property insurance for the contents of the building. This type of property insurance covers the furniture, fixtures, inventory, and other supplies that may be stored at your office. You can insure these items for the replacement cost or the actual cash value. Some property insurance may have higher premiums, but it will help your company recover faster since you can replace damaged items with new ones. <image:caption>If you are ever sued, your home or auto policy will provide you with some liability coverage, paying for lawsuits against you and your lawyer’s fees, up to a limit set in the policy. However, in our society, you may want to have an extra layer of protection. That’s what an umbrella insurance policy provides. An umbrella insurance policy kicks in when you reach the limit on liability coverage in a homeowners, renters, and condo or auto policy. It will also cover you for things such as libel and slander. Because the umbrella insurance policy goes into effect after the other coverage is exhausted, there are certain limits that usually must be met in order to purchase this coverage. Most insurance companies will want you to have about $250,000 of liability insurance on your auto policy and $300,000 of liability insurance on your homeowner’s policy before selling you an umbrella insurance policy for $1 million of additional coverage.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Individuals that operate their own businesses need liability insurance in addition to a home-based business or business owner’s policy. This protects you against financial losses from lawsuits filed against you by your clients or vendors. Business owners are expected to have extensive knowledge or training in their particular areas of expertise. They are expected to perform the services for which they were hired, according to the standards of conduct in their profession. If they fail to use the degree of skill that is expected of them, they can be held responsible in a court of law for any harm that is caused to another person or business. When liability is limited to acts of negligence, business liability insurance may also be called "errors and omissions" liability. Business liability insurance is considered to be specialty coverage. Business liability coverage is not provided under homeowner’s endorsements, home-based business policies, or business owner’s policies (BOPs).</image:caption>

      <image:title>Life Insurance - Life Insurance</image:title>
<image:caption>There are two major types of life insurance, term, and whole life. Whole life insurance is sometimes called permanent life insurance, and it encompasses several subcategories, including traditional whole life, universal life, variable life, and variable universal life insurance. Life insurance products for groups are different from life insurance sold to individuals. The information below focuses on life insurance sold to individuals. Term Insurance is the simplest form of life insurance. It pays only if death occurs during the term of the policy, which is usually from one to 30 years. Most term policies have no other benefit provisions. There are two basic types of term life insurance policies, level term, and decreasing term. For more information on the different types of term life insurance, contact us today. Whole life or permanent life insurance pays a death benefit whenever you die, even if you live to 100. There are three major types of whole life or permanent life insurance, traditional whole life, universal life, and variable universal life, and there are variations within each type of life insurance. In the case of traditional whole-life insurance, both the death benefit and the premium are designed to stay the same (level) throughout the life of the policy. The cost per $1,000 of benefit increases as the insured person ages, and it obviously gets very high when the insured lives to 80 and beyond. The life insurance company could charge a premium that increases each year, but that would make it very hard for most people to afford life insurance at advanced ages. So the company keeps the premium level by charging a premium that, in the early years, is higher than what’s needed to pay claims, investing that money, and then using it to supplement the level premium to help pay the cost of life insurance for older people. By law, when these over-payments reach a certain amount, they must be available to the policyholder as a cash value if he or she decides not to continue with the original plan. The cash value is an alternative, not an additional benefit under the life insurance policy.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Boat Insurance - Boat Insurance</image:title>
<image:caption>Most boat insurance companies provide limited coverage for property damage for small boats such as canoes and small sail boats or small power boats with less than 25 miles per hour horsepower under a homeowners or renters insurance policy. Coverage is usually about $1,000 or 10 percent of the home’s property value and generally includes the boat, motor and trailer combined. Liability Boat Insurance coverage is typically not included, but it can be added as an endorsement to a homeowner’s policy. Check with your boat insurance company to find out if your boat is covered and what the limits are. Larger and faster boats such as yachts and personal watercraft require a separate boat insurance policy. Jet skis and wave runners may also require a separate boat insurance policy. The size, type, and value of the watercraft and the type of water in which you use it in will factor into how much you will pay for boat insurance coverage. For physical loss or damage, boat insurance coverage includes the hull, machinery, fittings, furnishings, and permanently attached equipment as part of either an actual cash value boat insurance policy or on an agreed amount value basis. These boat insurance policies also provide broader liability protection than a homeowner’s insurance policy. But there are distinct differences between the two types of boat insurance policies. Actual Cash Value boat insurance policies pay for boat replacement costs less depreciation at the time of the loss. In the event of a total loss, boat pricing guides and other resources are used to determine the vessel’s approximate market value. Partial boat insurance losses are settled by taking the total cost of the repair less as a percentage of depreciation. Agreed Amount Value basis policies mean that you and your boat insurance company have agreed on the value of your vessel and in the event of a total loss you will be paid that amount. An agreed Amount Value boat insurance policy also replaces the old items for new ones in the event of a partial loss without any deduction for depreciation. Boat insurance also covers: Bodily injury: for injuries caused to another person Property damage: for damage caused to someone else's property Guest passenger liability: for any legal expenses incurred by someone using the boat with the owner’s permission Medical payments: for injuries to the boat owner and their other passengers Theft</image:caption>

      <image:title>Flood Insurance - Flood Insurance</image:title>
<image:caption>Homeowners’ and renters’ insurance does not cover flood damage. Flood insurance coverage is available in the form of a separate policy both from the National Flood Insurance Program and from a few private flood insurance companies. The NFIP flood insurance policy provides replacement cost coverage for the structure of your home, but only actual cash value flood insurance coverages are for your possessions. Replacement cost coverage pays to rebuild your house as it was before the flood damage. Actual cash value is the replacement cost coverage minus the depreciation. So that means the older your possessions are, the less you will get if they are damaged in a flood. There may also be limits on flood insurance coverage for furniture and other belongings stored in your basement. Flood insurance is available to renters and homeowners. If you live in a designated flood zone, you will need flood insurance. Flooding can also occur in inland areas and away from major rivers. Consider purchasing a flood insurance policy if your house could be flooded by melting snow, an overflowing creek or pond, or water running down a steep hill. Don’t wait for a flood season warning on the evening news to buy a flood insurance policy, there is a 30-day waiting period before the flood insurance coverage will take effect. Excess flood insurance is also available from some private flood insurance companies for those who need additional flood insurance protection. Depending on the amount of flood insurance coverage that has been purchased, an excess flood insurance policy will cover flood damage above the limits of the federal program on the same basis as the federal program’s replacement cost for the structure and actual cash value for the contents. Excess flood insurance is available in all parts of the country including flood zones along the coast and close to major rivers. It can be purchased from specialized flood insurance companies through independent insurance agents, or from regular homeowners insurance companies that have arrangements with a specialized flood insurance company to provide flood insurance coverage to their policyholders. To find out whether private primary flood insurance is available in your area, please contact us.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Renters Insurance - Renters Insurance</image:title>
<image:caption>Renters insurance provides financial protection against loss or damages to your possessions when you rent a house or apartment. While your landlord may be sympathetic to a burglary you have experienced or a fire caused by your iron, damages or losses of your possessions are not usually covered by your landlord’s insurance. Because in most cases, renters insurance covers only the value of your belongings, not the physical building, the premium for renters insurance is relatively inexpensive. By purchasing renters insurance, your possessions are covered against losses from fire or smoke, lightning, vandalism, theft, explosion, windstorm, and water damage (not including floods). Like homeowners insurance, renters insurance also covers your responsibility to other people injured at your home or elsewhere by you, a family member, or your pet and pays legal defense costs if you are taken to court. Renters insurance covers your additional living expenses if you are unable to live in your apartment because of a fire or other covered peril. Most policies will reimburse you the difference between your additional living expenses and your normal living expenses but still may set limits as to the amount they will pay. There are two types of renter’s insurance policies you may purchase: Actual Cash Value: pays to replace your possessions minus a deduction for depreciation up to the limit of your policy. Replacement Cost: pays the actual cost of replacing your possessions (no deduction for depreciation) up to the limit of your policy</image:caption>

      <image:title>Workers Compensation Insurance - Workers Compensation Insurance</image:title>
<image:caption>This type of workers compensation insurance is for the employer to provide for their employees. Workers compensation insurance covers the cost of medical care and rehab for workers injured on the job. It also compensates them for lost wages and provides death benefits for their dependents if they die from work-related accidents. Workers compensation insurance is a remedy for all on-the-job injuries suffered by employees. As part of the contract included in each state’s law, the employee gives up the right to sue the employer for injuries caused by the employer’s negligence and in return receives workers compensation insurance and benefits regardless of who or what caused the accident, as long as it happened in the workplace as a result of and in the course of work-related activities. Workers compensation insurance laws vary from state to state. State statutes and the courts control many aspects, including the handling of claims, the evaluation of impairment and settlement of disputes, the amount of benefits injured workers receive and the strategies used to control costs. The costs of workers compensation insurance are one of the many reasons that influence businesses to expand or relocate in a state to generate jobs.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Auto insurance protects against financial loss in the event you have an accident. It is a contract between you and your auto insurance company. You agree to pay the monthly auto insurance premium and your auto insurance company agrees to pay your losses as defined in your auto insurance policy. Auto insurance provides property, liability, and medical coverage: Property coverage pays for damage to or theft of your car. Liability coverage pays for your legal responsibility to others for bodily injury or property damage. Medical coverage pays for the cost of treating auto injuries, rehabilitation, and sometimes lost wages and funeral expenses. An auto insurance policy is comprised of six different kinds of coverage. Most states require you to buy some type of auto insurance policy, but not all auto insurance coverage's are required. If you are financing a car, your lender or bank may also have requirements. Most auto insurance policies are for six months to a year. Your auto insurance company should notify you by mail when it's time to renew your auto insurance policy and pay your premium. <image:title>Condo Insurance - Condo Insurance</image:title>
<image:caption>If you have purchased a condo, the bank will require condo insurance to protect its investment of your condo. You may, however, need more condo insurance to cover your personal items, liability, or fees that may be charged to you regarding shared areas of the building such as the lobby. You will need two separate condo insurance policies to protect your investment: Your own condo insurance policy. This provides coverage for your personal possessions, structural improvements to your condo, and additional living expenses if you are the victim of a fire, theft, or other disaster listed in your condo insurance policy. You will also get liability protection under your own condo insurance policy. A "master policy" is provided by the condo/co-op board. This covers the common areas you share with others in your building like the roof, basement, elevator, boiler, and walkways for both liability and physical damage. To adequately insure your condo, it is important to know which structural parts of your condo are covered by the condo association and which are not. You can do this by reading your condo association’s bylaws and/or proprietary lease. If you have questions, talk to your condo association, a condo insurance company, or a family attorney.</image:caption>
